JEE Advanced 2024: Insights & Expectations As Uttar Pradesh Leads With 11% Eligible Candidates

The JEE Advanced 2024 exam is set for May 26. JEE Advanced, short for Joint Entrance Examination Advanced, is an engineering entrance examination in India which is considered one of the most challenging examinations in the country.
Over 30% candidates eligible for JEE Advanced from just 3 states
An analysis of the JEE (Main) qualification data uncovered some intriguing insights.
Out of the 2.5 lakh candidates who qualified to take the IIT entrance examination, a staggering 54% hail from merely six states, while a whopping 73% originate from just ten states.

In this panorama, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana emerge as the frontrunners, boasting 28,300+, 24,500+, and 24,100+ qualified candidates respectively - collectively representing over one-third (30.7%) of the total candidates eligible for JEE (Advanced).
Delving deeper, there are 11 states where the count of eligible candidates surpasses 11,000, constituting nearly 79% of the total qualified pool.
Furthermore, five states host over 21,000 qualified aspirants each, with Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan being the 4th and the 5th states.
14 lakh candidates for the JEE (Main) this year
This year, a grand total of 14.1 lakh candidates signed up for the JEE (Main) examination. Impressively, more than 75% of these candidates took part in both the Jan and April sessions, demonstrating an outstanding 96% attendance rate.
Despite the significant portion of candidates opting for both sessions of the JEE (Main), merely about 28% of them managed to enhance their performance in the subsequent sitting.

The deadline for registration for the JEE (Advanced) exam falls on May 7, with the exam itself scheduled for May 26, 2024.
JEE (Advanced) stands out as one of India's most grueling competitive examinations.
To even qualify for this test, aspirants must first secure a position among the top 2.5 lakh in the JEE (Main). Subsequently, they must vie for approximately 17,000 seats across various IITs, making every step of the journey highly competitive and demanding.
