UPSC CSE Success: IAS Priyanka Goel Failed Five Times But She Didn't Give Up Hope

Who is Priyanka Goel?
Hailing from Delhi, Priyanka Goel finished her education at Maharaja Agrasen Model School, Pitampura, and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Delhi University.
Her journey towards cracking UPSC and becoming an IAS officer began soon after graduation.
Failure, failure and failure - but Priyanka kept on
But little did Priyanka know that she had a long road ahead. She failed to clear the UPSC CSE Prelims - the first stage of the examination - in her first attempt.
She failed to clear Prelims in the second attempt as well, falling short by a mere 0.7 marks.
In the third and fourth attempt, a similar story repeated.
Many would have given up hope by this time, but Priyanka pushed on.
During her initial attempts, it is her lack of comprehensive knowledge of the syllabus that led to her failure.
In subsequent endeavors, Priyanka Goel faced challenges in the UPSC Mains and CSAT, exacerbated by the unfortunate circumstance of her mother experiencing 80% lung damage during her fifth attempt amid the COVID era.
Unfortunately, she was unable to clear the prelims in the 5th attempt as well.
Sixth time's a charm!
Finally, in her sixth and last attempt, Priyanka was able to taste success.
Priyanka achieved rank 369 in CSE 2022.
She scored the highest marks in her optional subject of public administration (292). In the final list, she secured 965 marks including 193 marks in the interview.
Priyanka's story goes to show that perseverance and optimism can eventually guide individuals towards the realization of their dreams.
