Similar initiative by other police forces
In the past too organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation have collaborated the several police forces in India to fulfil the dream of terminally ill children.
In April 2018, six-year-old Dudekala Ishan from Medak District of Telangana became the Commissioner of Rachakonda Police for a day.
The Class II student who was suffering from blood cancer was made the top cop for a day. He was welcomed by the cops with a bouquet and an honorary salute.
The Mumbai Police had also shown a similar gesture when Kunwar Singh Patil, a five-year-old cancer patient was made a senior inspector at a police station for a day in August 2015.
