35 Underprivileged Students Given Free Coaching By Delhi Government Qualify For NEET, JEE

Four of the students have secured admissions to leading technical institutions such as IIT Delhi, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology Delhi and IIT BHU, Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam told PTI.
These students belong to low-income families belonging to Scheduled Castes and are unable to afford the fee of private coaching institutes. The Delhi government, under its scheme, provided financial aid to secure admissions in these premier institutes.

¡°Of the 107 students who got free coaching for engineering and medical entrance exams under the Jai Bhim Mukhyemantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana, 13 have been declared successful in the JEE Main and 22 in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET),¡± reported news agency PTI.
The Aam Aadmi Party launched the scheme last year. As many as 4,953 students enrolled for availing coaching for various exams, including UPSC, SSC, banks, Railway Recruitment Board, Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board and insurance companies in 2018-19.

Under the scheme, the Delhi government pays the coaching fee of up to Rs 40,000 to all selected students for a four-month course. It also gives a stipend of Rs 2,500 to every student.
Among the students who have qualified, one id Vijay Kumar, who is a Delhi government school student. He took free coaching scheme for competitive exams and cracked IIT-JEE. His father is daily labourer and moth works as maid.
