At the recently concluded Tadoba Festival 2024, the Maharashtra Forest Department accomplished a noteworthy achievement by utilising thousands of saplings to spell out the phrase 'Bharat Mata,' securing the record for the 'largest potted sapling word.'

Organised by the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), the event aimed to endorse wildlife conservation, aligning with sustainable tourism and the preservation of Maharashtra¡¯s heritage.
To accomplish this feat, saplings of 26 different species were arranged to form the complete phrase 'Bharat Mata' when viewed from a higher angle.

Longest line of potted saplings in Assam last year
In 2023, the Assam Forest Department achieved a Guinness World Record for the lengthiest arrangement of potted saplings.
Utilising an impressive 3,22,444 saplings, they arranged a spiral emanating from a central point, spanning a distance of 22.22 km. This initiative was conducted as part of the state¡¯s Amrit Brikshya Andolan.
Beyond the record for the Longest Line of Potted Saplings, the department distributed seedlings in various categories, ultimately earning a total of nine Guinness World Record certificates.
On a single day, a grand total of 1,11,17,781 seedlings of diverse commercially valuable tree species were planted across the state.
Through the lens of saplings, the Maharashtra Forest Department's tribute to the nation in Chandrapur not only symbolises their patriotism but also exemplifies an unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship.
