The acute water crisis in his locality had forced a Bengaluru man to sleep outside the office of Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in RH Halli. Srinivas M adopted this way after official apathy and water shortage in his locality left no other way except for staging protest.
"There are 60 houses on this road. I have been requesting for a water connection for the last ten months, but they kept saying it will happen in a day or two," Srinivas said.
"After a point, things went wrong at home too since nothing was being done about it. I had no other choice. I decided to sleep here until the issue is resolved," he added, according to a News18 report.
Srinivas told that he returned home on Monday after he was assured by the officials that issues of water in localities. Srinivas has spent Rs 1000 per month in buying water from private tanks.
The water in the Bengaluru city comes under the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) and the recent addition of 110 villages to supply water to by BBMP resulted to shortage of water.
