The Indian Army has paid tribute to Phantom, an army dog who was killed in the line of duty during an encounter in the Battal area of Jammu and Kashmir¡¯s Akhnoor. The four-year-old Belgian Malinois was born on 25 May 2020 and was posted to the force on 12 August 2022.

The Indian Army's White Knight Corps remembered Phantom's contribution and said that his "courage, loyalty, and dedication" will never be forgotten.

Three terrorists killed
On Tuesday, the Army reported that three terrorists were killed in a round-the-clock surveillance operation that began after a failed ambush attempt on an Army vehicle in Battal.
The White Knight Corps reported a significant victory after an intense firefight in the morning, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists. The operation also led to the recovery of war-like stores, underscoring ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
Akhnoor operation
On 28 October, an Indian Army vehicle was attacked in the Battal area of Akhnoor. The Jammu and Kashmir police indicated that three terrorists were spotted near Asan Mandir in Battal, where they fired at an Army ambulance. The area was cordoned off, and a joint search operation was launched by the Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces.
