Baba Siddique murder: Gunman waited outside Lilavati Hospital for 30 minutes to confirm death
While the two other gunmen fled the scene immediately after the firing incident, Shivkumar stayed back, changed his shirt, and kept his used shirt along with the murder weapon, a Turkish Tisas pistol, in a bag, which was later dumped under an abandoned car nearby.
Shivkumar Gautam, aka Shiva one of the gunmen arrested in connection with the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, went back to the crime scene and to Lilavati Hospital to make sure that the 66-year-old was dead, the police said. According to the Mumbai Police, Gautam, the main shooter, wanted to make sure that the 'job' was done.

Police said that the 23-year-old changed his shirt soon after the firing and took an auto rickshaw to Lilavati Hospital, where Siddique was taken.
According to the investigators, while the two other gunmen fled the scene immediately after the firing incident, Gautam stayed back, changed his shirt, and kept his used shirt along with the murder weapon, a Turkish Tisas pistol, in a bag, which was later dumped under an abandoned car nearby.
Waited among crowd to make sure job was done
He then went back to the murder spot and stood in the crowd, trying to gather information about the fate of his victim. After learning that Siddique, who suffered two bullet injuries to his chest, was taken to Lilavati Hospital, the accused followed him there.
Police said that Gautam stood among the crowd outside the hospital for nearly 30 minutes until he was convinced that Siddique wouldn¡¯t survive.
Arrested while fleeing to Nepal
The accused then took an auto rickshaw to Kurla railway station, from where he took a train to Thane and later to Pune. He was also planning to travel to Ujjain railway station, where he and the two other shooters had agreed to meet if they got separated while fleeing.
He was arrested on November 10 in Nanpara, in UP¡¯s Bahraich, in a joint operation by UP STF and the Mumbai Crime Branch, while trying to flee to Nepal.
