Bengaluru Traffic Cop Jumps Into Water Sump, Saves Toddler From Drowning
A two-and-a-half-year-old boy had accidentally fallen into a 10-foot sump tank. His aunt who was taking care of him while his parents were at work was frantically calling for help. Sub-Inspector Nagaraj is posted at Bengaluru's Byatarayanapura Traffic Police Station.

Sub-Inspector Nagaraj who is posted at Bengaluru's Byatarayanapura Traffic Police Station was on his way to duty on Wednesday when he heard a cry for help.
Boy fell into slump while playing
A two-and-a-half-year-old boy had accidentally fallen into a 10-foot sump tank at BEL Layout near Byadarahall
The lid of the tank reportedly slid open when the boy stepped on it and he fell into the water.
The boy had fallen unconscious, and his aunt who was taking care of him while his parents were at work was frantically calling for help.
The cop who was in his uniform rushed to the spot and without hesitation jumped into the water sump.
Traffic cop saves unconscious boy
According to Nagaraj the slump was 10 feet deep and had around 5 feet of water in it.
He found the boy at the bottom of the tank in an unconscious state and soon lifted him out to safety.
Nagaraj also performed CPR and revived the unconscious boy as locals who had assembled at the house cheered him.
The boy was later taken to a local hospital, where he is recovering.

Nagaraj also earned praise from the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru.

Many on social media also appreciated Nagaraj for his efforts and some even recommended that the cop should be honoured by the government for his act.
