The Role Of A Father And A Cop Who Helped Nikki Yadav's Partner Plan Her Murder, Hide Body

The plot thickens in the Nikki Yadav murder case with five new arrests that reveal details of a conspiracy hatched by the main accused Sahil Gehlot and the help that he got from his family.

According to PTI, the five men who were arrested on Friday night in connection with the killing of the 23-year-old woman had planned to get rid of her so that Sahil Gehlot could marry a second time to a woman of the family¡¯s choice.

Sahil's father Virendra Singh; his two cousins, Ashish Kumar and Naveen; and two friends, Lokesh Singh and Amar Singh helped him hatch the conspiracy and then hide the body in the fridge at the family's restaurant, police said.

Sahil Gehlot¡¯s father is being held on charges of helping his son in the ¡°conspiracy¡±. Special CP Ravinder Yadav informed that the accused¡¯s father was aware of the murder from the beginning.

Special CP Ravinder Yadav said, ¡°All accused planned the whole conspiracy and then they disposed the body in the refrigerator of their dhaba. After the murder, they all attended Sahil¡¯s marriage ceremony. The accused father was aware of the murder from beginning. Another accused, Sahil's cousin Naveen, is a constable in Delhi police who is now being interrogated for helping Gehlot.

The incident came to light on February 14, four days after the crime was committed. Gehlot confessed to the crime in police custody and led police to the refrigerator in his eatery where the victim¡¯s body was hidden.

Sahil Gehlot, 24, strangled Nikki Yadav with a charging cable on the day of his wedding to another woman after a three-hour fight over the issue. Sahil had hidden his plans to marry another woman from Nikki Yadav.

Fresh details emerge

Cops had yesterday revealed that Nikki Yadav was married to the accused since 2020. Sahil Gehlot's family did not approve of the relationship and wanted to get rid of Nikki Yadav so that he could marry another woman.

Vipin Arya, the priest said, ¡°On October 01, 2020, they (Nikki and Sahil) came to get married, they said that the family agreed but due to some problem, they could not come. Only 1-2 people came with them.¡±

The couple had kept their wedding a secret and had not informed their respective parents about it. Nikki Yadav¡¯s parents told police that they were not aware of her relationship or her wedding to Gehlot. Gehlot¡¯s family were finally faced with the truth when they began looking for a bride for Sahil. This was when he came clean to his family and told them that he was already married.

According to probe officials, Gehlot¡¯s family expressed their displeasure over him marrying a girl of his choice without informing them. Throughout this time, they pressured Sahil to leave Nikki Yadav and get her out of the way.

"On multiple occasions, the accused persons persuaded him to leave Nikki Yadav and get her out of the way. They kept putting pressure on him," a police officer told news agency PTI.

Once Sahil¡¯s second wedding was fixed, his family members began discussing ways to try and get rid of Nikki Yadav. One of the ideas floated by a family member was to take Nikki to a hill station before Valentine¡¯s Day and kill her there.

After several brain storming sessions, Sahil decided to murder Nikki on February 10.
