All of them have been booked and placed under arrest.
They have been booked for indiscipline and spreading filth in the police station campus.
"Despite giving a warning, four police personnel namely Sub Inspector Nand Kumar Kachwaha, Additional Sub Inspector Dinesh Dwivedi, ASI Devendra Singh and head constable Pyare Lal spitted tobacco in the premises of the police station," said Shahdol Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mukesh Vaishya.
"They have been arrested on the charges of indiscipline and spreading filth on the premises of police station," he added.
The matter is being probed further.
If found guilty, at the very least these cops could lose their jobs, though what steps are going to be taken remains to be seen.

At the moment, they are accused of desecrating their place of work and it could lead to immediate termination should those in authority think that this type of action is warranted.
As of now, they are in custody and an investigation is being conducted.
It is not clear what steps shall be taken against them but such kind of behaviour is not taken lightly by any means.
It may not have been the first time they have done it.
If they are let off lightly then it may not be the last either.
