CRPF Jawan Pretends To Be Crime Branch Official, Extorts Rs 30,000 From Private Firm Employee

A CRPF jawan along with his associate is in custody for allegedly extorting Rs 30,000 from a private company employee. They did it by pretending to be Crime Branch officials in Naroda, Ahmedabad.
The accused are Yunus Rana (33), a CRPF jawan, and Bhuriyo Nagar alias Amit (35), a history-sheeter. They approached Amit (name changed) at a pan shop in Naroda on February 16.
They said they got a complaint against him because he had entered a guesthouse with a female friend.
¡°They asked Amit to accompany them. After reaching Nana Chiloda Crossroads, the two asked Amit to give them some ¡®kharcha¡¯, if he wanted to be let off. Amit, who did not have much cash on him, took the duo to a shop known to him. Amit transferred Rs 30,900 to the shopkeeper¡¯s account. In return, the shopkeeper handed over Rs 30,000 to Anuj which he gave to the two men,¡± said a report by Ahmedabad Mirror.
Amit left Ahmedabad after that and returned not long back and lodged a complaint with the cops. Police got hold of CCTV footage where it happened.
They identified them and arrested them on December 3. As of now, they are being questioned said a police officer.
