The river is in the village of Mawlynnong in Meghalaya, close to India¡¯s border with Bangladesh, which is touted as ¡°Asia¡¯s Cleanest Village".
The Umngot River acts as a natural divide between Jaintia and Khasi hills, before finally flowing into Bangladesh.
People who have visited the place say the water is so clear that the boats appear to float over it.
The water of Dawki river is impossibly clear. One can see the river bed with colourful pebbles and stones while on a boat ride.
Cleanest village in Asia
In 2003, Mawlynnong, also called "God's Own Garden" was awarded the title of the cleanest Village in Asia by Discover India.
Alongside cleanliness, the village has also achieved a rare feat -- a 100 per cent literacy rate.
All houses here have functional toilets since 2007, there are bamboo dustbins all over the village, the dry fallen leaves also go into the dustbin, plastic bags are banned and smoking is prohibited.
