Declare Delhi A Gas Chamber, It's Hard To Breathe Anywhere As Pollution Level Crosses 700 Mark

After a day¡¯s respite, Delhi has woken up to a gas chamber as air-quality in the national capital transcends all bounds and slumps to beyond ¡®severe¡¯ levels. Most parts in the city and other satellite cities have PM2.5 and PM10 levels at an average of 600 which is nothing lesser than inhaling a slow death.
ITI Shahdra, Jhilmil Industrial Area in east Delhi is the most polluted area in Delhi with PM10 levels crossing 731 mark.
Usually, Anand Vihar remains the most polluted area in the city, but today with PM 2.5 556 and PM 10 676 respectively. The Supreme Court has banned the bursting of the crackers this Diwali and the stubble burning in neighbouring states is almost done. But yet the pollution levels are going higher and higher turning the city¡¯s air into an omnipresent poison.

Though there is no place in Delhi which has healthy air to breathe in, the least polluted area is Najafgarh where the PM2.5 levels reaching 408. Dwarka surprisingly has PM 2.5 levels at 212 which to the resident of the area a great respite as rest of the city is breathing air toxic beyond imagine.

Satellite City Gurgaon also has pollution levels in slight control as the city PM2.5 level is 252 which compared to other parts of the Delhi NCR a bliss. The SC has banned the bursting of the crackers and only a small window of 2 hours has been given for the bursting of crackers on Diwali. But going by the levels of pollution in the capital today, the city is certain to have a tough morning on Thursday.

While Delhi breathes the literal poison, the politicians are busy in blaming one another. Yesterday, CM Kejriwal blamed farmers in Punjab and Haryana for Delhi pollution and Punjab CM Amarinder Singh returned the favour by question Kejriwal's education credentials and asked whether Kejriwal is an IIT graduate or not.
