"This election [Delhi poll] is not a small election but that for stability and unity of the country. If a government of the Bharatiya Janata Party is formed on February 11, then after an hour no one will be seen in Shaheen Bagh," said West Delhi BJP MP Parvesh Verma.
Verma also said that within one month of being voted to power, he will ensure that all mosques built on government land are demolished in his constituency.
"If my government is formed in Delhi, then give me only one month's time after February 11. Will not leave any mosques built in my Lok Sabha constituency on government land will remove them all," he said.
Just yesterday, union minister Anurag Thakur urged a crowd at an election rally in Delhi to say "goli maaro" - or shoot down traitors - in a widely-shared video that is being examined by the Election Commission.
He was campaigning for the BJP candidate in Rithala in North West Delhi for the February 8 Delhi election, can be seen prompting "desh ke gaddaron ko...", to which the crowd responds "...goli maaro sa***n ko"; the entire chant translates to "shoot down the traitors who betray the country".
Thakur never actually says the controversial part of the slogan, but clearly spawns on the crowd and claps his hands as he gets the response he wants.
Several BJP leaders were present at the time. The BJP candidate from Rithala, Manish Chaudhary, was also on stage when the slogan was being chanted. Later, Home Minister Amit Shah arrived and addressed the same rally.
