Denied seat to contest Haryana Assembly election, Olympian Yogeshwar Dutt sends out a cryptic message
Yogeshwar Dutt had earlier expressed his willingness to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections from the Gohana Assembly Constituency. However, the BJP, which released its first list of candidates for the assembly election on Wednesday, has fielded two-time former Lok Sabha MP Dr. Arvind Sharma from Gohana.
BJP leader and former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt on Thursday took to social media to express what appears to be his response to being denied a ticket by the BJP to contest in the upcoming assembly polls in Haryana. The 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist shared a Hindi poem on X, which translates to: "When the character is pure, why is this your condition? Sinners don't have the right to test you, set out on a search to find yourself."

Yogeshwar Dutt wanted Gohana seat
The 41-year-old from Sonipat, Haryana, had earlier expressed his willingness to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections from the Gohana Assembly Constituency.
"I have expressed my wish to contest elections to the Chief Minister and the central leadership. I am a sportsperson, an Olympic medallist, and I have contested elections from BJP earlier as well, so I want to get a chance," Dutt had said last week.
He further added that he wants to contest from the Gohana assembly constituency and has communicated the same to the leadership.
"Now it is time for elections, so I want a chance to contest from Gohana. I can't be certain about the future, but I have expressed my willingness, and I have told the leadership that I want to contest," he added.

Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia to contest for Congress?
While Dutt, who joined the BJP in 2019, may have been overlooked by the party, fellow wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat may find their names in the Congress list.
The duo, who along with Sakshi Malik, led the wrestlers' protest in Delhi last year, met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, leading to speculation about their political entry.
