DIY Craft Fail Makes Kerala Boy A Viral Sensation, His Words Featured In Top Milk Brand's Ad
A Kerala's boy's DIY video, in which he attempted making a paper flower did not go as he planned but gave him so much fame that he could not have even imagined.
DIY (Do it yourself) videos can be fun and helpful. Due to the lockdown, a lot more people are depending on DIY videos for everything from new recipes to handicrafts for children.
But a Kerala's boy's DIY video, in which he attempted making a paper flower did not go as he planned but gave him so much fame that he could not have even imagined.
Muhammed Fayiz a resident of Kondotty in Malappuram was demonstrating how to make a paper flower, in the video that was recorded on a mobile phone.
He marks the paper, folds, and cuts it with scissors. But when the Class IV student opens up the folded paper, to show the flower he had made it did not look like the design he had intended.
Without even a second of hesitation, Fayiz said "Some will get it right, some will not. Mine did not. Anyway, it is not a problem for me."
Fayiz's sister who saw the two-minute video on the phone sent it to his father in Gulf, who then shared it with family and from there it went viral on social media, with many appreciating his positive attitude and not being disappointed over a setback.
His dialogue, some will get it right, some will not, mine did not also resonate with many and it was instantly turned into hundreds of memes.
As he catchphrase went viral, Milma, the largest milk brand in Kerala used it for a full-page newspaper ad saying ¡°Some people get it right and some get it wrong, but tea will be right if the milk is from Milma.¡±
But many on social media felt that Milma was exploiting the boy's words and demanded that Fayiz should be compensated for the same.
As the demand grew, Milma obliged and rewarded Fayiz a smart TV and Rs 10,000 as royalty.
When asked about what Fayiz plans to do with the 'royalty money' his family said they will donate a portion of it to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund and the rest to help the lesser privileged around them.
