During an attempted interception of vehicle, the driver skillfully evaded the police by reversing the car. The pursuit was captured in a 42-second video, which shows the Ghaziabad Police chasing the car as it travels in the wrong direction on the highway.
Despite their efforts, the driver managed to evade capture, weaving through traffic in a daring attempt to escape. Reports indicate that the police initially tried to stop the car on the highway, but the driver refused to comply and resorted to driving in reverse to evade capture.
The video depicts the driver navigating the highway in a zigzag pattern, further intensifying the dramatic chase.
While the footage looks like a scenario straight out of a Bollywood movie, it is indeed a real-life incident and not a staged performance. The Ghaziabad Police persisted in their pursuit, but the driver ultimately managed to elude them, driving off into the night.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or accidents reported during the chase. In response to the viral video, the police issued a statement confirming the incident and detailing their efforts to apprehend the driver.
In their official statement, the police stated, "PC received information that an I-20 car was driving recklessly from Rajnagar, with suspicions of drink-driving. When the PC attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver began driving in reverse." They further added, "Today, a video has gone viral on social media depicting a car I-20 travelling in reverse on the elevated road, being pursued by police. Upon investigation, it was found that the incident occurred around 9:30-10:00 pm last night.
