The dramatic moment when the Malta surveillance plane crashed and exploded, killing five people onboard, was recorded on live camera. The plane was en route to Misrata in Libya when the accident occurred.

The following video, posted on Facebook by RT Play, shows the plane plummeting to the ground and crashing into a massive explosion of fire and black smoke.
The footage was captured by Laurent Azzopardi who witnessed the incident firsthand. She said she was driving to work when her dashcam captured the plane crash.
According to AFP, the five victims were French custom officials but according to Reuters, three were French defence military officials while the other two were private contractors.
