Former ISRO Chief K Radhakrishnan, Who Took India To The Moon And Mars To Give Wings To UAE's Space Dreams
Former Indian Space Research Organization ISRO director who oversaw the Chandrayaan-1 and Mars Orbiter Mission will join the UAE Space Agency in the coming weeks. The Kerala-born scientist joined the ISRO in 1971 as an Avionics Engineer at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Trivandrum.
Former Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) director who oversaw the Chandrayaan-1, and Mars Orbiter Mission India's maiden moon mission in 2008 is all set to embark a new journey.
The retired ISRO chief will soon join the UAE Space Agency in Dubai. India's Ambassador to the Emirates, Navdeep Singh Suri, confirmed the development on Thursday, Gulf News reported.

Ranked as top 10 scientists in the world by Nature journal in 2014, the Kerala-born scientist will join the UAE Space Agency in the coming weeks, Dr Mohammad Al Ahbabi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency said in a statement.

¡°I expect that in the next two weeks or so, a former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation will come on the advisory board of the UAE space agency,¡± the statement said.
The ambassador to the UAE also told the Gulf News that more collaborations between the two countries in the space sector are in the pipeline.

Radhakrishnan who joined the ISRO in 1971 as an Avionics Engineer at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Trivandrum.
A Padma Bhushan recipient in 2014, Radhakrishnan in his four decades-long career in ISRO has played a key role in some of its monuments achievements through the years including the Chandrayaan and Mars Orbiter Mission.

There are also reports that filmmaker Nikkhil Advani will be making a biopic on Radhakrishna based on his autobiography 'My Odyssey'.
