A childless couple from West Bengal, Reena and Sudipta Pal, adopted her on June 10.
Then a childless couple from USA went to Madhubani to adopt a 2-year-old abandoned girl, Kavya.
They did so in front of a magistrate.
The trend that is visible is that more girls are being preferred over boys.
This shows a sign of a change in mindset.

¡°Counseling has also made an impact. Prospective parents are registering with choices for kids for adoption on the CERA portal and coming ahead for adopting from Bihar¡¯s various adoption centres,¡± said Raj Kumar, who is the Director of Social Welfare Department.
The social welfare department's figures showed that 210 abandoned children, of which 148 were female, were adopted in 2018-19.
71 of them were adopted by Bihar couples in the country and 39 by those living overseas.
In 2019-20, 120 kids were adopted and 82 of them were female.
