Gurgaon residents outraged over Rs 140 price for 100 grams of coriander on Zepto: 'Dhaniya now commands respect!'
A Gurgaon resident has stirred up social media by showing that Zepto charges ?140 for 100 grams of dhaniya (coriander), despite a discount. His post has left people both shocked and amused, reminding them of a similar outcry from BlinkIt earlier this year.
Doesn't it break your heart a little when you have to actually pay for dhaniya when buying groceries online, instead of just asking the sabzi wala to add a little for free? Well, that's exactly what¡¯s happening with shoppers on the quick-commerce platform Zepto, and the price of dhaniya has left Gurgaon residents stunned.
Recently, Harsh Upadhyay, a resident of Gurgaon, took to social media to voice his astonishment over the price of dhaniya (coriander) on the quick-commerce platform Zepto.
He posted a screenshot on X showing that a mere 100 grams of dhaniya was priced variously at Rs 131 and Rs 141.
"Dhaniya 100 gm costs you ?131 on Zepto," Upadhyay wrote, expressing his disbelief at the exorbitant price for such a basic grocery item.

Zepto has addressed the issue, explaining that a system glitch resulted in significant pricing disparities across their platform, leading to some unusual price tags for various products, including coriander. They have stated that the issue has been resolved.
Interestingly, this outcry echoes a similar incident from May of this year, when another customer took to social media to complain about the shock of having to pay for dhaniya on BlinkIt.
This led to BlinkIt introducing a 'free coriander' feature as a response to the backlash from that customer's post.
In the comments, people shared their astonishment at the price.
One person wrote, "For that price, I'd rather buy dry fruits!"
Another humorously remarked, "Now no one will give Dhaniya Free! Dhaniya demands full Izzat."
Someone else added, "When you want everything delivered to your doorstep, you have to pay a premium. But if a local vendor charges ?10 more, everyone loses their minds!"
