Three Indian astronauts who will go to space for three days aboard the Gaganyaan, will don a saffron spacesuit. The spacesuit prototype was launched during the launch of the sixth edition of Bengaluru Space Expo.
The spacesuit has been developed for over two years at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram.
ISRO has developed two suits and will create one more as three astronauts are set to take off to space before 2022.
The suit will mount one oxygen cylinder with an endurance of 60 minutes.
ISRO has also developed a crew model and a crew escape model. A prototype model has already been tested by the space agency.

#Gaganyaan - #ISRO's first manned space mission! Below are the prototypes of the spacesuit and crew module. By 2022, India will become one of the four countries in the world (after Russia, US and China) to launch a manned space flight. Hats off to you @isro ?? pic.twitter.com/keHA6quyta

¡°In the crew model capsule, the three astronauts will be living for five to seven days in a 400-km orbit from the Earth's surface. The capsule will have a thermal shield and it will turn into a ball of flame travelling towards the Earth when they re-enter the atmosphere¡±, says a report by India Today.
The three astronauts will see India from space twice every 24 hours as they conduct experiments on microgravity.
