Ahluwalia recently committed an amount of Rs 1 Crore to Kailash Satyarthi Children¡¯s Foundation (KSCF) on the eve of the International Literacy Day.
The contribution has been committed to bolster KCSF¡¯s ongoing Justice for Every Child Campaign for providing legal and mental health support to child victims of sexual abuse and rape, and their families. Launched in March this year, the campaign aims to provide support in 5,000 strategic cases in 100 Fast Track Courts in 100 districts across the country.
Ahluwalia recently met Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi at Mukti Ashram, a shelter home for children in need of care and protection.
Ahluwalia interacted with many girls at the shelter, who are being supported by KSCF under its various projects for child empowerment.
Among those he met with was Tara Banjara, the first girl from her Banjara Community in Alwar who passed Class 12 with flying colours. She now aims to become a police officer.
Lalita Duhariya, another girl from a backward community of Rajasthan, spoke about how she passed Class 12 with 96% marks and shared her dream of becoming a doctor.
