Several products which are being made in Gauthans (cattle shed premises) will now be developed by the state government as rural industrial parks.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has launched the ¡®Gauthan Map¡¯.
This app will carry every detail on cow dung procurement, working of gauthans, outputs of self-help groups, infrastructure and the database of such cattle sheds set up across the state.
The ¡®Godhan Nyay Yojana¡¯ launched in 2020 sees the government buying cow dung at Rs 2 per kg. Of the 7777 gauthans, almost 2000 have women engaged in multi-activity.
Diwali diyas of different sizes, idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi, mobile & candle stands, name-plates, sleepers, key-chains, flower-pots, incense sticks, herbal Gulal for Holi festival are being made.
Paints, pens, cement and bricks are also being made.
This is a nice initiative and it is working wonders.
