'Human Library' To Debut In Delhi Soon So You Can Leaf Through Chapters From A Stranger's Life

That's exactly what happens at a Human Library. While reading books is an enriching experience, talking to people who wrote them and having a one-on-one, makes it all the more interesting.
The main motive behind a 'Human Library' is to break the ice, start a conversations and directly confront personal prejudices.
The concept of Human Library originally started in Copenhagen in the year 2000 by Ronni Abergel with an aim to bring about a social change and encourage conversations among backward communities.

This Human Library movement quickly spread across 80 countries, including India. It was first held at Indore in 2016, then Hyderabad, and Mumbai . It's now debuting in Delhi on June 18th.
Neha Singh, book depot manager of the Delhi chapter, told Indian Express that, event will have ¡®books¡¯ from 11 categories, ranging from a recovering drug abuser, Buddhism practitioner and tea-seller turned author to female solo traveller, cancer survivors, bullying victim and a history chronicler.

The event in Delhi is expecting a turnout of 500-600 people, and after the 20-minute session the human books are asked how they feel and if they are emotionally equipped to share more.
