Mana Yatri, Hyderabad's new ride-hailing app
Mana Yatri was launched in Hyderabad on Thursday and is backed by Juspay, the company behind Namma Yatri.
In Hyderabad, the new service was launched in partnership with the Telangana government's T-Hub.
¡°We have a network of 25,000 drivers enrolled already. We are targeting to increase the number to one lakh drivers in the next three months,¡± the company said.
According to Juspay, the Namma Yatri family of apps has a network of 2.1 lakh drivers and over 50 lakh customers.
Zero commission from drivers
Unlike other ride-hailing apps, Namma Yatri and Mana Yatri differentiate themselves as a zero-commission platform. This means that the apps act as a platform to bring the customers and cab drivers together, and all the payments are done directly between them, without the service provider taking a cut of it.
This app is a testament to Hyderabad's spirit of innovation and the Government's commitment to empowering drivers while offering affordable transportation to people," Mahankali Srinivas Rao (MSR), CEO, T-Hub, said.
"We congratulate Mana Yatri for developing a direct-to-driver, open mobility platform to empower our community and offer fair pay and mutual respect. It will amplify welfare schemes for gig and platform workers,"Shaik Salauddin, Founder and State President of the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU), said.
Namma Yatri in Delhi
In January, Namma Yatri had launched its operations in Delhi to provide auto-rickshaw rides.
The company had on-boarded 10,000 auto-rickshaw drivers in the national capital before its launch.
