IBM CEO Arvind Krishna clarified in a May 1 discussion with a media outlet that numerous "back-office" roles, like human resources and accounting departments, will probably be the first to be automated by AI.

Krishna has further stated that mundane tasks such as employment verification letters would be replaced by AI and be fully automated. However, humans would continue to do HR functions such as evaluating workforce composition and productivity.
According to some reports, AI-based automation has helped IBM save over $1 billion in business expenses and maintenance costs.
