There is something unusual about Ranjeet Singh, an Indore traffic policeman who controls the busy intersections in Madhya Pradesh's commercial capital.
In reality, Ranjeet is a 'moonwalker' who is inspired by none other than the king of pop Michael Jackson. However, moonwalking is not only Ranjeet's passion but also his duty as he waltzs while telling the traffic to stop and take off.

¡°Instead of walking back I do the moonwalk which sometimes amuses commuters. That, in a way, encourages people to follow traffic rules,¡± Ranjeet recently told Hindustan Times.
And now Ranjeet is inspiring other traffic police personnel to adopt his style.
¡°I used to observe Ranjeet bhai during my college days and wanted to be like him. I instantly approached him for some tips as soon as I got my job. It's real fun to control traffic in that manner and at no point of time I feel bored,¡± said 22-year-old Sumant Singh Kachhawa, who is being trained by Ranjeet.
Mahendra Singh Tomar reckons commuters are inspired on the roads when they see him go about his job.
¡°One should leave an impact in whatever he or she does and I bring the same while I am signaling people on roads,¡± said Tomar, who has been working in Indore for the past six years.
Not only juniors but even higher officers of the traffic police force are awed by Ranjeet's efforts.
¡°He is not only an inspiration to constables but for his seniors as well. His style of controlling traffic attracts everyone. He has been exceptional in sharing his style with his colleagues,¡± Additional Superintendent of the traffic police, Anjana Tiwari was quoted as saying by HT.
But Ranjeet is partly a frustrated man because there are people who do not follow his instructions on the road.
¡°There are commuters who don¡¯t wish to follow any instruction. Our job is to tell them but in the end it is their choice,¡± says the hero who has a large follower base on Facebook.
