In Yet Another Merciless Act, 10 Dogs Beaten And Captured In Sacks In Gurugram
In a recent frightening incident, ten stray dogs were brutally beaten and then taken away in sacks.
It is true that human beings donĄ¯t deserve dogs. In the past, nerve-wracking incidents of animal cruelty have brought to the fore little or no sympathy for them. The lackadaisical approach to implementing strict rules against animal cruelty has further aggravated the situation.
In the past, heinous activities like setting pups on fire, beating them to death and dumping them insensitively have come to light. Stoning dogs to death and thrashing them with sticks has become a very common thing in every Indian locality.
In a recent frightening incident, ten stray dogs were brutally beaten and then taken away in sacks. In GurugramĄ¯s Uppel Southend, a CCTV footage revealed that animals were so gravely injured that the residents feared they might have been left to die.

Times of India reported that animal activists have alleged that the security guards were involved in the incident. The residents claimed that on April 1 and April 2, dogs were beaten and taken away. The RWA has even lodged a police complaint.
The RWA is also concerned about security at the premises since some unidentified people had entered the vicinity. The CCTV footage shows a group of men trying to capture a 11-year-old dog. The residents raised a complaint with People for Animals, a non-governmental organisation.
However, an animal rights activist alleged that the RWA, the security guards as well as the residents took almost two days to acknowledge the incident even though they had concrete proof in the form of a CCTV footage.

Reportedly, dog bites were a huge problem in the society. Though, the NGO took away stray dogs for sterilisation and vaccination, they were released into society again. This could be one possible reason for the residents to take such steps.
In November last year, a heart-wrenching news of a male street dog being brutally raped by four low lives in Mumbai had sent shivers down the spine. Soon social media users started offering their heartfelt condolences for the street animals. Many people asserted that the dog had gone to a better place, expressing astonishment that how could humanity stoop to a new level with each passing day.

In another incident, four pups were set ablaze in the city of Hyderabad while they were sleeping in garbage dumps. The gruesome incident which took place in the cityĄ¯s Moula Ali suburb was carried out by unidentified culprits.
In January this year, two women were arrested for brutally killing 16 puppies just because they had become too difficult to handle. They were found in the terrible condition from the parking lot of NRS Medical college in Kolkata. The incident came to light when a video went viral on social media. Two women could be seen thrashing the puppies. The puppies can be seen quivering and moaning with pain.
There is an urgent need to crack down on inhumane incidents like these. Courses on protection of animals and their safety should be inculcated among students right from preschool. Caring for animals is the responsibility of the society. More patrolling and strict action is needed against men who carry out cold-blooded murders of innocent animals.
