Injured And Left To Die By Breeder, This Dog Gets A New Lease Of Life
A social media user, @CatizenKane recently took to X to share the story of how he found and saved the abandoned dog. Bruno was injured, abandoned and about to die.
Injured, abandoned and about to die -- that is how Bruno was in January, but three months later, he is a happy and healthy dog, thanks to a Good Samaritan who took care of him.
A social media user, @CatizenKane recently took to X to share the story of how he found and saved the abandoned dog.
Couldn't walk or stand up
"On January 6th, a friend texted me. He'd found an injured dog by a garbage dump in Bangalore. It couldn't walk, it couldn't even stand. Most of its fur was gone, it was covered in sores. He didn't have the time to help it but sent me this picture," the user wrote.

@CatizenKane also posted a photo of the dog when it was found by him. The dog was in a poor state of health and could not even stand by itself.
" It took me about 15 minutes to reach him, and when I did, I almost wished I could turn away. He was more miserable in person than any picture could convey. But despite the obvious horror he'd been through, he still wagged his tail when I called out to him," @CatizenKane wrote.
"He must have been lying there for days because one side of him was covered in open sores. He offered no fight when I picked him up. He feebly tried to lick my face, but he didn't have the strength for that," the X user added.
Had no chance of survival
According to @CatizenKane, there was little to no hope for the dog to survive.
"The vets, of course, held out little hope. They asked me for a name, and without thinking, I said Bruno. Yes, it is a stupid name for anything, let alone a dog. In my defence, he wasn't expected to live long enough to hold it against me. His body temperature was 106¡ãC. Any higher, his organs fail. I expected the worst," @CatizenKane said.
How doctors saved Bruno
But thankfully Bruno soon started showing signs of a recovery.
"Maybe there was life left in this dog after all. Once he was slightly more lucid, the doctors put him on the ground to see if he could now stand or walk. Bad move. His legs gave out the second he tried to sit up. His head bounced off the floor," @CatizenKane wrote.
Two legs broken
Initially, the doctors suspected that Bruno had some neurological issues, but later they learned that both of his legs had been broken.
"This was no accident. Someone had broken Bruno's front legs and left him to die," @CatizenKane stated.
Within no time, Bruno, who, @CatizenKane suspects was a Labrador abandoned by a breeder, made a remarkable recovery.
While we love him to bits and wish we could keep him, we need to make room for other rescues. And though it breaks our hearts to give him up, Bruno needs a forever home. If you or anyone you know can give him the home he deserves, DM me. He will change your life. pic.twitter.com/J2A76yXRI2

Bruno looking for new home
"Bruno's legs have healed fully. Incredibly, despite all the suffering, he is gentle and loving to a fault. He does not bark at other dogs, is comfortable and gentle around cats, and only raises his voice at humans when he can't contain his excitement around meal times," @CatizenKane said while adding that Bruno is looking for a forever home.
