The Class 10 student of a private school in Jhotwara had left his home on August 21. The family members had filed a missing complaint with Karni Vihar police station on the same day. Following this, the cops quizzed his school friends.
"His friends said that he was insisting on them joining him in some online game.Later, we quizzed other friends who also confirmed that the boy had taken up the Blue Whale online challenge," said deputy commissioner of police (West Jaipur) Ashok Gupta.

One of the students told Karni Vihar police station house officer Mahaveer Meena that the boy had completed six to seven stages of the challenge and may have left home to play the remaining last stages of the `suicide challenge'.

"The boy had two mobile phones which he had been using all through his journey .The cyber team found his first location in Sawai Madhopur. A team was sent to the district but they did not find any clue. But another cyber expert told us that he was travelling towards Mumbai," said Gupta.

The team then decided to go to Mumbai. "His phone was kept on surveillance for 24 hours. The cyber team was tracing him through mobile tower location. On Friday , his last location was Churchgate station in Mumbai. One of our constables in civil dress found him," DCP Ashok Gupta told TOI, adding that he has being taken on a flight from Mumbai to Jaipur.
Karni Vihar police station house officer (SHO) Mahaveer Meena informed TOI that the boy had also bought a knife which was recovered from him in Mumbai. "The game involved many stages, he had already completed six to seven challenges which included watching horror movies, etc.," said Meena, adding that he was not allowed to complete these tasks in school and home and decided to run away to devote his time fully to the challenge.
