Meet JEE-Mains Topper Ranjim Prabal Das, A COVID-19 Survivor And Follower Of Elon Musk

It is often said that self-belief and hard work will always earn you success if you are looking for it, and this seems to be true for this 18-year-old. Ranjim Prabal Das, the topper of engineering entrance exam Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2021), was one of the six students who secured a 100 percentile score.

Despite being infected with the novel coronavirus in 2020, Ranjim was determined to crack the exam, and he did with flying colours.

Journey to clearing JEE Mains

Talking about his journey to clearing JEE Mains, Ranjim Das who hails from Assam said that he also revealed his future plans saying he plans to go to IIT Delhi for higher studies. Das, who now lives in Delhi was one of the six candidates who scored a full 100 marks in the JEE-Mains exam, the results of which were announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on March 8.

His future plans

A huge fan of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Das told ANI, "I follow Elon Musk and I plan to go to IIT Delhi for higher studies. Otherwise, I will go to the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru for science graduation."

Das says he used to study for eight hours to prepare for JEE Mains. ¡°I usually studied for only eight hours a day, on average. I focussed more on the target-based study,¡± he said. Six students secured a 100 percentile score in the JEE Main Exams February session.

His struggle through COVID

¡°When I tested COVID-19 positive, I focused on healing. Once the fever was down I got back to studies,¡± he added. While he was expecting a good score, speaking to News 18, Das said it was a surprise to have scored 100 percentile. ¡°I will now not appear for the remaining attempts as it would not make as big a difference. My aim now would be the JEE Advanced ¨C entrance test for IITs. I love programming and want to study computer science or electronics engineering from IIT-Delhi,¡± said the 18-year-old.

More than 6.61,776 candidates registered for JEE this year, of which, 95% took Test 1 courses (BTech and BE), and 81.2% of the candidates took the exam Test 2 (BArch and BPlanning).
