Commencing on Saturday, theft incidents occurred in the running room toilets, a place designated for train drivers and guards to rest.
During this, eight bib cocks, nine stop cocks, and jet sprays were taken. By Monday, three pillar cocks were stolen from the ladies' toilet and another from the gents' toilet, including the new AC toilet, an official said to Mid-day.
Interestingly, the incident has taken place just a week after the Central Railway of the Mumbai Division shared that they had installed ¡®state-of-the-art¡¯ facilities at the toilet facility of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, claiming that "modern design meets convenience".
"Experience the future of comfort!," the Central Railway of the Mumbai Division had claimed on X (formerly Twitter) when introducing the 'state of the art' facilities on January 30, 2024.

Not 'State of art' if it cannot be maintained, say netizens
One user suggested, "Include cameras," to which another responded, "Cameras inside restrooms!"
"Toti chor in Mumbai. On a Serious note, this needs to be looked into and the culprits arrested asap," said another.
Yet another wrote, "Unbelievable! Shows the attitude of CR maintenance team as well. It¡¯s costing lakhs to build , all from public tax funds, not ¡°State of art¡± it if it cannot be maintained!"
"Really bad.....our people do not deserve good services....they should start charging for these services and put up a security by that amount....," one wrote.
One tried to find a solution, saying: "Outsourcing and pay and use will help in maintaining it. Whoever is doing this should be heavily fined with imprisonment."
