Jharkhand Shocker! Widow Critical After Alleged Gangrape; Steel Glass Put Inside Private Parts
Like in the Badaun cases, the victim in Chatra was also violently mutilated by the rapists, who thrust a steel glass inside her private parts.
Even as outrage continues over the brutal gang rape and murder of an Anganwadi worker in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a similarly shocking crime has surfaced from Jharkhand.
A 50-year-old widow was allegedly gangraped by three youths in Kobna village of Jharkhand's Chatra district on Thursday night.
As per the FIR, the three youths, who are from neighbouring areas, barged into the widow's house, who lived alone and gangraped her.
Victim violently mutilated
Like in the Badaun cases, the victim in Chatra was also violently mutilated by the rapists, who thrust a steel glass inside her private parts.
The survivor has been admitted to Hunterganj Community Health Centre and her condition is critical, the establishment's medical officer-in-charge Dr. Ved Prakash said.
According to the police, two of the accused persons identified as Bablu Paswan and Bittu Paswan have been arrested and a manhunt has been launched to nab the third.
Not the only incident
In recent years there has been an increase in the number of sexual assaults, in which the victim is violently mutilated, often inserting objects or injuring their private parts, resulting in their deaths.
In Badaun too the 50-year-old woman's legs and ribs were broken while her lungs were attacked with a heavy object.
The autopsy has revealed that an iron rod was inserted into the woman's private parts, resulting in heavy bleeding.
The woman had gone to the village temple, where she was sexually assaulted by three men including the priest and two of his associates.
The matter came to light that night itself when the priest and his accomplices took the body of the victim to her house, saying it was found in a dry well on the temple premises.
While two of the accused were arrested by the police, the main culprit, the priest identified as Mahant Satya Narayan had fled.
He was arrested by the police on Thursday night from the house of a follower, where he was hiding.
