Jodhpur SDM Priyanka Bishnoi dies after alleged botched surgery

In a shocking incident, a serving Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Rajasthan has died due to alleged medical negligence. Priyanka Bishnoi, who was serving as the SDM of Jodhpur, reportedly died on Thursday due to complications from a surgery she underwent in a private hospital earlier this month.

According to local media reports, Bishnoi had been undergoing treatment in a hospital in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, since September 7. Family members of the 2016-batch RAS officer alleged that she had undergone surgery in a private hospital on September 5 after complaining of stomach pain.
However, due to alleged medical negligence on the part of the hospital, Bishnoi developed health complications and had to be rushed to Ahmedabad for treatment.

Based on the family's complaint, the Jodhpur district administration has ordered a probe into allegations of medical negligence. District Collector Gaurav Agarwal has ordered an investigation led by a panel of five doctors.
