Among the various Uber cab stories online, often horror stories, this one stands out as unique. Social activist Kiran Verma recently shared a heartwarming experience from his Uber ride. Although he ending up spending more than just for the Uber ride, that extra amount made a significant difference in a little girl's life.
Trying to save money, Uber driver couldn¡¯t afford bag for daughter
Kiran Verma, a social activist and the founder of Simply Blood, shared an encounter he had during his ongoing 21,000 km walk to raise awareness for blood donation.
During a ride he took, Verma overheard the driver's daughter asking for a school bag, which the father couldn't afford due to financial difficulties.
Verma explained, "I booked an Uber cab today, the driver picked me and he started the ride. During the ride, he got calls and he disconnected 2-3 times. After that I insisted him to pick up the call. He did and the sound from the other side was quite audible to me. It was his daughter and she was asking for a school bag."
Initially hesitant, the driver eventually spoke to his wife and explained, "I am trying to save little money but can¡¯t afford to buy a new bag atleast in next 2-3 days as I recently bought books for our daughter and need to pay monthly bills."

Brand new bag for Uber driver¡¯s daughter
After hearing about his situation, Verma altered the drop-off location while speaking to his wife on the phone. Upon arrival, he invited the driver to accompany him to a shop, explaining that the item he needed to purchase was heavy. The humble driver agreed without hesitation.
He took the driver to a store and bought a school bag. Since his account didn't have enough funds, he made the payment using his wife's account. He then handed the bag to the driver, who was left speechless and simply thanked him.
They returned to the car, where Verma suggested, "Give your daughter a surprise today."
The driver asked for Verma's number. Later, the driver sent a picture of his daughter smiling like an angel after receiving the bag.
Verma concluded by stating, "Just be kind and help anyone in need, the world would look beautiful."
