Leopard enter Jaipur hotel staff room
It was first spotted at around 9 am in the hotel's staff room. According to a spokesperson of the hotel, no one was present in the room when the leopard entered it and no one was attacked by the big cat.
After being alerted by the hotel administration, a team from the forest department and Jaipur Zoo reached the spot.
Leopard to be released into forest
The adult male leopard was captured and shifted to Nahargarh Rescue Centre after tranquilisation.
Prithviraj Meena, Bassi area Ranger of the Forest Department, said that the leopard could have slipped through the forest in the morning and will be released back into the wild after first aid.
Leopards are the most adaptive among the big cats and can even share space close to humans.
Due to their shrinking habitat and prey base, leopards have been increasingly spotted in human settlements, including in urban areas like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.
