Leads Show BJP Is Sweeping The Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Nationwide
Bharatiya Janata Party BJP seems to retain its grip as its candidates lead on majority Lok Sabha seats. The Congress has been left far behind Hindi heartland Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. BJP has also made inroads into once-invincible Mamata Banerjee&rsquos turf West Bengal.
As the counting of votes begin in world¡¯s largest elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to retain its grip as its candidates lead on majority Lok Sabha seats from where the counting trends are available.
The Congress has been left far behind.
Hindi heartland Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have turned out to be a driving factor toward BJP win. Interestingly, BJP has also made inroads into once-invincible Mamata Banerjee¡¯s turf West Bengal.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is leading from both Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad in Kerala.
UPA chairperson and senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi is leading from Rae Bareli.
Punjab ruling Congress was leading on eight seats, while the BJP and its alliance partner Akali Dal on two seats each. Bhagwant Mann, AAP's only hope, was leading, as per initial trends in the first two hours of counting of ballots.

West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress is leading in 21 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state while the BJP is ahead in 11 and Congress in two constituencies after two hours of counting.
While BJP lost its power last year to Congress in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the BJP is winning in most Lak Sabha seats in the three states.
Kanhaiya Kumar is trailing on his seat from Begusarai in Bihar.
The BJP leaders on their way to triumph include Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow, Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal.
Good news for Congress comes from Kerala, where the party is leading on 19 out of 20 seats.
With 900 million voters, this was the biggest-ever election, aptly dubbed as the "Mother of all election."
This means that 69.23 per cent of Indian citizens are eligible to vote. This is also an increase of 8.55 crores from the previous Lok Sabha elections in 2014 when there were 81.45 crore eligible voters.
In 1950, when India held its first general elections, the country had merely 17.32 crore voters (excluding Jammu and Kashmir). According to the 1951 Census, the population of the country was 35.66 crore.
