Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Hyderabad Voters To Get Free Rides, Discount On Amusement Park Tickets

Commuting to the polling booths in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal in Telangana for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is set to become much more convenient with free rides. Ride-hailing app Rapido has announced free bike taxi, autorickshaw and cab rides for voters in the four cities on May 13.

Free ride for voters
On election day, voters can avail free rides on the Rapido app using the code 'VOTENOW' and get a free ride to exercise their democratic right. The initiative aims to facilitate residents' voting rights and ensure a more inclusive electoral process, Rapido said in a release.

"We are undertaking this initiative to ensure that every voter in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Warangal can successfully fulfill their civic duty by casting their votes in the Indian General Election 2024," Pavan Guntupalli, the co-founder of Rapido, said.
Ensure equal access to vote
The ride hailing platform wants to specifically ensure that differently-abled and senior citizen voters have equitable access to exercise their democratic right. By extending free auto and cab rides to them, the ride app is redoubling its commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility, he added.

"By offering free commute to voters, especially the differently abled and senior citizens, Rapido is facilitating greater inclusivity and ensuring that every eligible citizen can exercise their democratic right," he said.

Earlier, Rapido, in partnership with the Election Commission of India had launched similar services in other cities including Bengaluru on the day of voting.

Discount on park tickets
It is not just Rapido, that is encouraging voters with special discounts. The Wonderla Park in Hyderabad has announced a 20 per cent discount on tickets for voters showing their inked fingers. The offer can be availed between May 13th and 15th.
Voting for 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana will be held on May 13.
