In this round of voting, the states participating are Bihar (8 out of 40 seats), Himachal Pradesh (4 out of 4 constituencies), Jharkhand (3 out of 14 constituencies), Odisha (6 out of 21 seats), Punjab (13 out of 13 seats), Uttar Pradesh (13 out of 80 constituencies), West Bengal (9 out of 42 seats), and Chandigarh (lone constituency).

Who are the contenders in Phase 7 of voting?
Major candidates in this phase include:
Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking a third term by contesting from Varanasi. Among his challengers is Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief Ajay Rai.
Mandi: Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is running for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket. She will face Vikramaditya Singh, the Congress candidate and royal scion of the erstwhile Rampur Bushahr princely state.
Patna: Senior BJP leader and incumbent MP Ravi Shankar Prasad is contesting to retain his seat, relying on his and PM Modi¡¯s popularity. Congress has fielded Anshul Avijit, the son of former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar.
Hamirpur: Sitting MP and Union Minister Anurag Thakur aims to retain the Hamirpur seat. He is up against Satpal Raizada, a close confidante of Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, representing Congress.
Mayurbhanj: This tribal-dominated seat, a stronghold of President Droupadi Murmu, will see the BJP fighting to retain it against candidates from Odisha¡¯s ruling party, the Biju Janata Dal, and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
Amritsar: Former allies BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal are attempting to take the Amritsar constituency from Congress¡¯s incumbent MP Gurjeet Aujla. The BJP has fielded Taranjit Singh Sandhu, a former envoy to the US, while the Akali Dal has chosen Anil Joshi.
