Man Nabbed For Posing As IPS Officer And Sexually Abusing Several Women In Delhi

A man posing as an IPS officer with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) was arrested from east Delhi¡¯s Mayur Vihar. The accused had allegedly raped numerous women after promising to marry them.

Police said that the accused has been identified as Piyush and a fake ID card was also recovered from him.

Piyush came on the police radar after a woman filed a complaint against a man who claimed to an assistant commissioner of police, who had promised to marry her. The man allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and then absconded.

A case was registered at Mayur Vihar Police Station based on her complaint. The woman provided the man¡¯s mobile phone numbers and an account on a matrimonial website where the accused had contacted her.

Using the information, the investigating teams nabbed the accused from his house. Along with the fake ID, the cops also recovered fake government stickers on his i10.

Police said that the accused had created a profile on a matrimonial site where he introduced himself as an ACP. He would meet women and promise to marry them. He would sexually assault them and then block them from the profile. The accused had allegedly targeted several women with this modus operandi.
