The account of one such martyr, CRPF commander Pramod Kumar who died recently in an attack will be etched in our hearts forever. The 44-year-old commander was killed by militants in Kashmir on the occasion of Independence Day soon after he raised the national flag.

While watching her father¡¯s corpse wrapped in the national flag, she couldn¡¯t hold back her emotion and raised her hand to her head, as she saluted.

Kumar joined the CRPF in 1998, serving in Kashmir since 2014. As soon as he heard about the tension on the site, he rushed towards the area which was under attack. He was successful in his mission of eliminating those militants, but he lost his life.
