Militants Who Abducted & Shot Cop On Leave Trapped By Forces In Kulgam; 3 Killed In Encounter
Of late, security personnel visiting their native villages have been easy picking for terrorists in the state, with this being the fourth such incident in recent times.
The bullet-riddled body of Saleem Shah, a J&K police constable who was abducted by terrorists from his home at Mutalhama in Kulgam district on Friday night, was found at Qaimoh in the same district on Saturday afternoon.
Shah was recently promoted as constable and was training at Kathua in Jammu. He had come home on leave a few days ago.

However, three militants who were part of group which abducted and shot him have been killed in an encounter by security forces in Khudwani village of the district on Sunday.
The militants were trapped after a cordon-and-search operation by Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF in Khudwani early on Sunday morning, according to officials.

In another attack, terrorists opened fire on a CRPF road opening party on Khanabal Pahalgam road at Bumzoo in Mattan area of south Kashmir¡¯s Anantnag district.
At least two CRPF men were wounded. A search operation has been launched to track down the terrorists. Two CRPF personnel, including an officer, were killed a few days ago when vehicle-borne terrorists fired upon a patrolling party at Achabal.
