Mumbai-Goa Route Might Be Transformed Into California-Like Seaside Highway, Thanks To Gadkari
The government is considering the possibility of beautifying the surroundings of Mumbai-Goa national highway along the seacoast on the lines of the road linking Los Angeles and San Francisco in the United States.
Amid all the chaos that is going on right now, we often have something to hold on to. India, as assorted and bizarre as it could be, is also the land of tremendous beauty.
Owing to that and in a bid to enhance it, even more, the government is planning to beautify the surroundings of Mumbai-Goa national highway along the seacoast on the lines of the road linking Los Angeles and San Francisco in the United States.
All thanks to the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

During his visit to the United States two months ago, he travelled from San Francisco to Los Angeles along the Pacific ocean, which is when the idea struck him.
"We have to think if we can use the nature's beauty and further beautify (the road-side stretch)", he said.
The centre thus plans to enhance the roadside beauties, including hotels and motels.
Following his direction, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is preparing a detailed project plan. It aims at transforming the Mumbai-Goa road in a similar way.
"So, the process is on. People should enjoy their ride travelling by road," he said, inaugurating the 77th annual session of the Indian Roads Congress.
More than 35,000 km of roads will be transformed soon. The government also plans to construct 2,000 Railway overbridges.
The minister also said 1300 spots have been identified in the country for providing roadside amenities like hotels, motels, petrol pumps and helipads, which would offer huge employment opportunities for locals.
