Muslims of India will never allow the Taliban mindset to surface in the country, Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the Deewan of the famed Ajmer Dargah has said.
Condemning the brutal murder of a Hindu man by two Muslim youths who filmed their act and bragged about it on social media, Khan said the accused were a part of certain radical groups that find a solution only via the path of violence.
Take a strict action against them
¡°I strongly discourage this act and plead the government to take a strict action against them. Muslims of India will never allow talibanisation mindset to surface in our motherland,¡± he said.
¡°In the gruesome video that surfaced on the internet, some non-ethical minds committed a brutal attack on a poor man which is received as a punishable sin in the Islamic world,¡± he said.
On Tuesday the nation was left shocked after the video showing the beheading of Kanhaiya Lal, a Hindu tailor from Udaipur.
The two men who carried out the attack identified as Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad were seen bragging about their actions while brandishing the murder weapons.
They also were seen threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying their knife will get him as well.
The accused reportedly murdered Lal over a Facebook post supporting former BJP leader Nupur Sharma after she had made controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad.
The two accused were arrested by the Rajasthan Police within hours of the brutal murder.
Muslim organisations condemn the murder
It is not just the Deewan of Ajmer Darga, several Muslim organisations and influential personalities from the community have come out denouncing the horrific act and calling for strict punishment for the accused.
"Whoever carried out this incident cannot be justified in any way, it is against the law of the land and our religion. ¡°There is a rule of law in our country, no one has the right to take the law in their hands,¡± Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind General Secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi said.
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) said, "Taking law into your own hands is highly condemnable, regrettable and un-Islamic".
In a media statement, Hazrat Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary of AIMPLB said, "It is a grave crime to defame and slander any religious personality. The derogatory words spoken by (former) BJP spokesperson, Nupur Sharma against Prophet Muhammad are very painful for the Muslim community. The inaction of the government against this crime is nothing but rubbing salts on our wounds. But in spite of this, nobody can be allowed to take the law into their hands and declaring someone a criminal and then murdering them is a highly condemnable act."
He further stated, "Neither the law nor the Islamic Sharia allow it. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board strongly condemns the incident of brutal killing in Udaipur."
The Jamaat e Islami Hind and the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat have also condemned the brutal act.
There can be no justification
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday condemned the incident saying that there can be no justification for it.
