Here, we bring you some of our favourite experimental summer cooler recipes straight from the kitchen of different restaurants. Take a look.
1) Watermelon and Mint
Watermelon and mint are a classic combination. Mint is one of the most popular herbs in the world, and it works incredibly well with watermelon because it adds an earthy flavour to this sweet fruit. For best results, we recommend using whole leaves rather than dried ones; they'll be easier to chop up once you're ready to make your drink! You will need about 1.5 kg of skinned watermelon (deseeded and chopped into small chunks), fresh mint leaves, 150 ml of lime juice, and salt to taste.
Mix all the ingredients together in a blender until the texture is smooth. Run the mixture through a strainer collecting the juice in a jug. Garnish with some mint leaves, add some ice cubes, and serve.
2) Passion Dance
As the name suggests, this drink helps make your party or gathering exotic. It's a refreshing summer drink made with passion fruit puree, lime juice, and a sprig of rosemary, topped with soda and lemon spritzer. You will need not more than five to six minutes to prepare the cooler.
First of all, muddle rosemary in a shaker. Fill the shaker with ice. Add passion puree and lime juice. Shake it well. Once done shaking, double strain on ice in a pilsner or tall glass. Top it with soda and sprite and stir well. Finally, garnish it with rosemary sprig.
3) Mohabbat Ka Sharbat
Famous from the streets of old Delhi, this summer drink is as refreshing as it sounds. This summer drink is a delicious pairing of fruit and flower flavours made with milk, rose syrup, and a bit of sugar and freshly cut watermelon cubes. It's refreshing and beautiful for summer days. Combine milk, sugar, rose syrup, and freshly cut watermelon cubes in a bowl. Mix well and serve cold.
4) Raspberry Lemonade
This is an excellent drink for summer. It's sweet enough to be enjoyed by kids but not so much that you'll give them an adult beverage. The lemonade makes it taste like you're drinking fruity water, which will help keep your children from getting thirsty while still enjoying themselves at the party or barbecue.
Combine 200gms raspberries and ? cup lemon juice in a blender and mix it until smooth. Pour the mixture over a strainer and collect the juice in a large bowl. Pour ? cup more lemon juice, 4 cups of water, and 1 cup of sugar into the bowl. Mix well. Pour the lemonade into glasses with ice cubes and garnish with mint leaves before serving.
5) Mango Lassi
Everyone's favourite and crowd-pleaser, mango lassi is the perfect combination of sweetness of mangoes and tartness of yoghurt. To make this beautiful drink, you need 4 ingredients- homemade or store-bought dahi, fresh sweet mango, some sugar and ? a teaspoon of cardamom powder. Blend all of these with a few ice cubes, and you are good to go.
6) Pineapple and Lime
To make the pineapple lemonade, you need to cut the pineapple into medium-sized chunks and blitz them in a food processor. To that, add lemon juice and then the honey syrup/ simple syrup. Combine this well. Lastly, add water to the mixture. Serve this with some ice and charred pineapple.
7) Orange-Mango Soda
To make the orange-mango soda, cut cubes of fresh mango, add orange juice and blitz this together. Add honey syrup/simple syrup to this mixture.
Fill ?th of your serving glass with this mixture, and top it off with sparkling water.
8) Banana and Coffee Smoothie
What if we tell you we have the perfect coffee banana smoothie recipe? It has a good dose of caffeine and some nutritional elements too! It is ideal for those surprise visits from guests and an instant charmer too.
Add milk, espresso shot, medium-sized sliced and frozen banana, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder and ice cubes in a blender.
Blend them all together properly till everything gets combined.
Pour them into glasses, and you are good to go.
9) Mango Mojito
This mango mojito comes together easily with just a few common ingredients, readily available at home during summer.
Start by muddling some mint leaves and lemons. Keep it aside. Before assembling the final drink, make sugar syrup with equal quantities of sugar and milk. To assemble, add ice, then muddled mint leaves and lemons. Add lemon juice and our star ingredient, mango puree. Give it a good mix. Top the glass with soda water and stir again.
10) Lemon Iced Tea
Tea might not be for everyone, but it works wonders when paired with lemon and served cold. To make this lemon iced tea, you need to start with water in a saucepan and cook it with tea leaves and sugar for a couple of minutes. Cook until the tea has left all of its beautiful aroma and flavour in the water. Strain this mixture and set it aside to cool down.
To assemble your summer drink, in the glass, start with some ice, strained tea mixture, fresh lemon juice, few mint leaves and a few slices of lemon for that extra kick, and you are done!
11) Cucumber and Mint
Trust us when we tell you, you will include this in your menu of summer beverages. In fact, you are definitely going to prepare this cooler on repeat this summer. The combination of fresh mint flavour and cucumber juice has many health benefits and is simple to make.
To prepare this cooler, you will need 2 cucumbers (sliced), 3 limes (juiced and zested), and 2 fresh mint leaves. Place the cucumbers with the lime juice and 2 tablespoons of zest in a blender. Blend the mixture until smooth. You can add such a number of ice cubes till you have your desired amount of coldness. Sprinkle some salt and mix well. Serve in a glass with fresh mint leaves as garnishes.
