Recently, Masterchef Australia judge Andy Allen explored various Indian chakna, from spicy Chilli Cheese Bhujia to Masala Peanuts and Cheeselings in a video featured by Enthucutletmag, a food magazine known for its unique food stories in India.
Andrew Peter Allen is an Australian chef, food critic, and TV host. He gained fame by winning the fourth season of MasterChef Australia in 2012 and later became a judge on the show starting in 2020.
The 36-year-old Andy was all in for the Chilli Cheese Bhujia, rating it a perfect 5 out of 5, ready to pair it with a beer. The Masala Peanuts also impressed him, calling it a step up with another 5 out of 5. However, Cheeselings didn't fare well, earning only 2 out of 5 from him.
Things went downhill fast with Cherry Cheese Pineapple, which Andy dubbed his "kill list" and gave a resounding 0 out of 5. Murukku got a lukewarm 3.5 out of 5, needing more salt.
Andy's top picks? Definitely Bhujia or Masala Peanuts.

The comments section wasn't shy, questioning the absence of popular chakna like masala papad and Chicken 65.
And there was confusion over Cherry Cheese Pineapple's place in desi chakna, with one commenter saying it's rarely seen in Indian drinking culture.
It's safe to say Andy Allen had his taste buds put to the test with these desi chakna and he may be halfway to becoming an honorary desi!
