NGT Has Just Banned Chanting 'Bam Bam Bole' At Amarnath And Internet Can't Keep Calm!
The National Green Tribunal banned the chanting of mantras, ringing bells at Amarnath temple.
The National Green Tribunal banned the chanting of mantras, ringing bells at Amarnath temple. Not only this, it has also asked the pilgrims not to carry mobile phones and personal belongings after the last check post. The tribunal asked the shrine authorities to consider buiding a separate room where people could keep their belongings.
NGT has issued a slew of orders to be implemented by the Amarnath Shrine Board. Earlier, NGT had asked the Amarnath Shrine Board to provide adequate infrastructure facilities to pilgrims and asked it to submit a status report on the same in the first week of December.
This did not go well with the twitterati and they blamed NGT for being insensitive. This is how they have reacted:
NGT is being insensitive and provocative. surely they know they are hurting the believers but they wont protest beyond a point. not good. need intervention.

We go to Amarnath Baba for pilgrimage, not for NGT's funeral that the re should be complete silence. We will ring our bells and chant our mantras & there is noting that NGT can do about it!

The Yatra is usually undertaken between July and August.
That's quite a tussle between environment and faith. May the good sense prevail.
