Clothing line Fabindia has removed a tweet promoting their latest collection for Diwali after it was slammed on social media by some Right-wing outfits.
The advertisement drew massive criticism after it was accused of ¡°defacing¡± the Hindu festival of Diwali and terming it Jashn-e-Riwaaz.
Many on Twitter slammed the brand hyper-secularisation of the Diwali festival.
¡°As we welcome the festival of love and light, Jashn-e-Riwaaz by Fabindia is a collection that beautifully pays homage to Indian culture," read the Fabindia tweet promoting their latest collection, which they were later forced to remove.
After #BoycottFabindia started trending on Twitter, the tweet was promptly removed.
